The e5 Man fasts for his bride to imitate Jesus as described by Saint Paul in his letter to the Ephesians, chapter 5 (for which e5 is named). Fasting is eating only bread and water.

Jesus made a bodily sacrifice on the cross for His Bride the Church to present her to God the Father "without spot or wrinkle." (Eph 5:27) By fasting for our earthly bride and joining our sufferings to Christ's we bring our brides to holiness. At the same time our act of bodily love in union with Christ accelerates our own conversion.

By making this sacrifice for the women in our lives we live out the essence of the gospel through a very particular act of self denial. To lay down one's body out of love for another is the whole DNA of the gospel.

An informal international network of Christian men, under the patronage of St. Joseph, dedicated to strengthening the family. The primary thrust of St. Joseph's Covenant Keepers is to men who are fathers of children still living at home.

As St. Joseph's Covenant Keepers, we are not just concerned with our own families. We will also strive for a Christlike concern for the spiritual and material welfare of other families in our community, in our parish, and in other localities throughout the world.

Every husband and father by virtue of his vocation is called by God to be the spiritual head of the home. Being a spiritual leader does not mean being a tyrant but a servant. To be a servant is to imitate Jesus who said, "I have come to serve, not to be served". Every father who loves his family deeply must truly desire to serve them. How can a father serve his family? There are numerous ways, which I will write about in future updates of RoL. I hope they will help you in your role as spiritual head of the home.

"Love for his wife as mother of their children and love for the children themselves are for the man the natural way of understanding and fulfilling his own fatherhood. Above all where social and cultural conditions so easily encourage a father to be less concerned with his family or at any rate less involved in the work of education, efforts must be made to restore socially the conviction that the place and task of the father in and for the family is of unique and irreplaceable importance."

The enemy has launched his main attack and has aimed his forces at our families. In short, it is literally Hell on earth. The enemy has not held anything back in this war against our marriages and families. He knows that if he can destroy our families, he can destroy our lives.
