What is apologetics?
Well, despite the sound of the word, it has nothing to do with saying you're sorry or expressing regret.  It's derived from a couple of Greek word parts, apo-, which means "from," and lego, which means "to speak."  Apologetics thus involves "speaking from" a particular position; in other words, defending it.  Apologetics is therefore commonly defined as the study of defending a position. As Catholic apologists, we speak from and defend the Catholic faith against attacks made by Fundamentalists, Mormons, Atheists, and other anti-Catholics.
