The GHS school calendar is available online. This calendar has all major school events and is updated once a week. You will need the free web browser "Firefox" this web browser has automatic pop-up protection and is a nice alternative to Internet Explorer. You will also need the calendar extension for Firefox. You can subscribe to this calendar by following the instructions below.Before starting, it would be helpful to bookmark this page and print it .
1. Click Here to download the Firefox web browser. This web browser is free and will enable you to subscribe to the GHS calendar. You will see the page below. Just click on "Free Download" and save the file.
2. Quit Internet Explorer and install the Firefox web browser. At the end of the installation, it will ask for you to launch Firefox web browser. Launch the web browser and choose to import favorites for Internet Explorer. You will also be asked if you want "Firefox" as your default web browser. You will need to say yes or no. If you do not want this window to appear next time, uncheck the box "Always perform this check when starting Firefox."
3. Go back to the bookmark you created for this page.(This bookmark will be available because you imported from Internet Explorer.)
4. Now you are ready to install the calendar extension for FireFox. Click Here and scroll down to "Calendar for Mozilla Firefox" and click install in the box next to windows. See the page below.
5. You will notice a line at the top of your browser asking you to edit options. This is the automatic pop-up blocker at work. You will need to edit options and allow the site. After you allow the site, you will need to click on install again and the calendar extension will be installed.
6. Once the calendar extension is installed, quit Firefox and then relaunch it.
7. Now select the tools menu and choose calendar. You will see the window below.
8. Choose File and then "Subscribe to remote calendar" You will see the window below. Notice there is text typed into the boxes below. This is the information you will need to type to subscribe to the GHS calendar. Once you have typed in the information below, select OK.
9. You are now subscribed to the calendar. See the window below.
10. You will need to update the calendar once a week. The Calendar is updated by Monday at 8:00am every week. Right click on "GHS Calendar" and choose "Refresh remote calendars" and you will receive the current information.
